Trending now: Organic Garlands & Sculptures

Posted by on May 19, 2017 in Blog | 0 comments

If you haven’t heard of Organic Balloon designs yet, you might be living under a rock. They are taking Instagram and Pinterest by storm, predominantly over the last 12- 18 months. They have been utilised for a range of occasions, like product launches, store grand openings, christenings, weddings and of course birthdays. Australia is quite possibly leading the way with organic balloon design. Talented artists are creating huge hot air balloons, garlands spilling over the edge of buildings and roof tops, ceiling canopies covered in balloons and even highly detailed miniature garlands wrapping around cakes. It’s not just limited to the medium of latex balloons anymore either. Now we are seeing the introduction of foil balloons, custom colour balloons, florals, paper garlands and foil fringing. There is no end to the possibilities of what can be created! We’ve been lucky enough to collaborate with the amazing Sarah Courtney, of Belle Balloons from Melbourne on two occasions now for balloons in Sydney. The first was at the end of last year when Sarah was asked to create huge garlands hanging from the ceiling for the launch of the Women’s Big Bash League in their corporate marquee at North Sydney Oval. The colours were selected to represent each of the teams- Sydney Sixers, Sydney Thunder, Melbourne Stars, Melbourne Stars, Melbourne Renegades, Perth Scorchers, Brisbane Heat, Hobart Hurricanes and Adelaide Strikers. I spent the day working side by side with Sarah, as well as Chris from The Balloon Crew and Lis from Beyond Balloons. It was a long day, but it was fantastic to be able to do some hands-on work with a few of the people who I’ve met in this industry at various conventions and training events, both locally and internationally over the years. Of course, the best part was that the client was thrilled with the result. I had the opportunity to work with Sarah again this week, as well as Chris from The Balloon Crew. The brief was to create two organic sculptures up the wall in two areas in the foyer outside of the ballroom at the International Convention Centre, where Tourism Australia was to celebrate their 50th Anniversary. We also helium filled twenty gold jumbo balloons, each with a custom-made tassel and printed decals with the clients’ logo and key dates from the last fifty years. These were to be held by the hostesses to mark the entrances and welcome the guests to the event. Check out the time lapse video of us hard at...

The website includes an easy to navigate search feature so you can find a supplier in your state, as well as defined by category, such as Wedding Dresses, Celebrants, Photographers and Décor to name a few.   This week we attended a very special launch event hosted by Wedded Wonderland at The Team Room in the QVB Sydney. Here we met with professionals in the industry who are now part of this amazing network. There was some stunning work on display on the night, so we can vouch for these very talented businesses. Some products we saw were custom made wedding dresses worn by models and styled by hairdressers and makeup artists, dessert buffets and cakes, entertainment, favours.   We created an organic balloon sculpture for the event with custom colouring to suit the theme of the event. A huge letter W stood at the top of the stairs at the registration area to welcome guests. It was a huge hit with lots of people taking photos with it and posting to social media. We love creating bespoke designs so that whatever the occasion, your event will be memorable and unique. 2017 Pantone Colour of the Year: Greenery

Posted by on Feb 2, 2017 in Blog | 1 comment

It’s time to get to know your local florist, because this years’ Pantone Colour of the Year is Greenery! “Greenery bursts forth in 2017 to provide us with the reassurance we yearn for amid a tumultuous social and political environment. Satisfying our growing desire to rejuvenate and revitalise, greenery symbolises the reconnection we seek with nature, one another and a larger purpose.” Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute. We have noticed a growing trend in decorating events with pairing both balloons and greenery and flowers. The combination of these two mediums come together beautifully to create diversity in texture, shape and colour. No longer do we rely solely on one material to create an atmosphere for our special event, but are leaning towards incorporating more to create something unique. Your decor and styling can be taken to the next level, simply by adding some paper fans, honeycomb balls and fresh flowers to your balloon arch, table centrepiece or back drop....

Bespoke Balloons

Posted by on Nov 16, 2016 in Blog | 0 comments

At The Party’s Here, we specialise in creating unique and custom made balloon designs to suit any occasion, budget and theme. These days, we’re fortunate to have access to thousands of balloon options to incorporate into our designs, from the classic latex balloon to the versatile bubble balloon to foils and orbz. There are endless possibilities for bespoke designs, the only limit is your imagination. Confetti balloons are one of this years’ must haves for your event. We stock a range of paper and foil confetti in various colours, including the popular rose gold. Brighten your event with rainbow colours, or keep it classy with coordinating colours to suit your invitations, table ware and desserts.  These beauties are perfect for any event, including gender reveals! Yes, that’s right, we can fill a black balloon with pink or blue confetti so that you can pop it and reveal to everyone the gender of your baby. What could be more exciting than that!? Custom made on request, your event is sure to stand out from the crowd with one of our Balloon Walls &/or Photo Frames. We created this one for Picnic Point Bowling Clubs annual open day, the brief was bright, fun and colourful so we chose a rainbow theme to really make it pop. These are so adaptable to any occasion, whether it be a birthday, a baby shower, engagement party and even for corporate needs like a store window display, or venue foyer       Our next popular bespoke option is tassels to add to your helium balloons. There are a beautiful range of colours available in both paper and foil, which pair perfectly with the confetti colours. Whether you want a big fluffy design with lots of tassels, or just 1-2 to add some texture and interest, we’ve got you covered! We also hand make garlands, which transforms one balloon into an elegant gift or table centrepiece. From stars and circles, to prams and hearts, these can be made in virtually any colour and shape to suit your event.                   Who doesn’t love seeing their name on something? Perfect for a main feature piece at your event, such as on the cake table, or as a gift, we can add a message or name to a range of different balloon designs. This one, our Gumball Balloon, is quickly becoming the most popular design to add a name to. Remember, as these designs are custom made, we do require some time to create them. Some options require a minimum of 48 hours notice to be completed, while others that have a design element, such as the balloon frames, require more notice. We recommend booking early to avoid disappointment. Email: info@thepartyshere.net.au          Phone: 02 9792 5403...

Melbourne Cup & Spring Racing

Posted by on Oct 6, 2016 in Blog | 0 comments

Dust off your fascinator and get your tan on, Spring Racing Carnival is here! Need some inspiration for your cup day? We can help! Whether it is an office sweeps, a luncheon at a venue or just something simple at home, there are plenty of options for decorating. Colour schemes vary depending on the style you want to achieve. The exciting part is that it’s really up to your own imagination and creativity. From bright yellow and lime green, to gold and white, to mixed racing colours, the possibilities are endless. The most popular colour scheme we’ve found is a classy combination of gold or rose gold, and black and white.   Some decorating trends that we’ve noticed emerging this year for Melbourne Cup involve the use of authentic or cardboard horse shoes, floral vines, faux grass and moss, rose gold cutlery & table ware, cup and horse trophies as table centrepieces & props. These can all be used to highlight a candy buffet, drinks bar, antipasto buffet or as table centrepieces. Do you have a large area that needs decorating? Balloons are the most cost effective way to fill open areas and transform a space into a party. At The Party’s Here we can custom design large sculptures or recreate designs you may have found online. If you have a specific colour palette to match, we can create an endless number of colour options and can also print on balloons to incorporate your branding, wording or logo. Check out our Melbourne Cup Pinterest Board for lots more ideas: https://au.pinterest.com/thepartyshere/melbourne-cup/...

Posted by on Sep 21, 2016 in Blog | 0 comments

So you’ve got the venue booked, the invitations have been sent out and everyone is busily hunting for the perfect dress and deciding how they will arrive in style. But it’s quite possible you haven’t thought about how to decorate the room and really make it a night to remember. While some people feel that balloons don’t suit more elegant occasions, we are here to prove them wrong! In the last 10 years, balloon designs have really flourished. Now, you can have stunning tulle covered balloons, Gatsby inspired confetti filled balloons and even huge balloon wall backdrops. The possibilities are enormous and we are no longer limited to simple 3 balloon bouquets to jazz up a table.    Do you have a theme for your graduation? Do you want to match your decorations to the colours on the invitations or the school logo? Is there an area of the room you wish to highlight? Would you like a main feature design or something on each table? Do you have any other decorations or are you relying on balloons only? How high is the ceiling? These are a few questions to ponder when deciding how to create wonderful memories for the kids or young adults to cherish. Give us a call or pop into the store and we’d be happy to make some recommendations based on your requirements. Delivery is available Sydney wide, so you can spend the extra time getting your hair done and leave the hard work to us. Balloon Releases FAQ

Balloon Releases FAQ

Posted by on Feb 11, 2014 in Blog | 0 comments

I bet most of you didn’t realise that there is actually legislation in place to ensure the protection of  the environment in relation to balloon releases. Here’s some of the facts. You may be surprised. What happens to balloons that are released into the air? 95% of latex balloons that are released into the air rise to 28 000 feet, where the altitude and temperature cause the balloon to expand and shatter into tiny pieces, about the size of a 10-20 cent coin. These pieces fall to the ground over a large area, where they bio-degrade. The remaining 5% drift with wind currents for 8-14 hours before coming down, where they also decompose.   How fast will balloons biodegrade? Latex balloons are made from 100% natural substance and will biodegrade at about the same rate as an oak leaf, given identical conditions. Balloons should not be confused with plastic. Latex is made from the sap of the rubber tree, a completely natural substance that breaks down in both sunlight and water. A helium balloon that has shattered at altitude will biodegrade much faster than a whole balloon in landfill. Foil balloons are not biodegradable and can conduct electricity if they come into contact with overhead power lines. For this reason, foil balloons should be attached to a weight and never released.    What is the Environmental Impact of Manufacturing Balloons? The demand for latex from the balloon industry actually ensures the survival of the rubber tree, and provides economic incentive for the planting of more trees, and in preventing deforestation. Harvesting latex can be more profitable to poor third word communities than raising cattle on the deforested land.    Can I Release Helium Balloons in NSW? In NSW it is an offence to release 20 or more helium filled balloons at one time. It is also an offence for us to sell helium balloons to a customer with the knowledge that they will be used for release, therefore we endeavour to educate our clients on these laws.  Is there an Exception? There are some exceptions to this law which include:  *Unintentional release. *If the balloons are released indoors and do not make their way into open air. *The balloons are being used in scientific purposes. Can I Release Balloons at a Funeral? Yes, you can. However, you must not release more than 20 helium balloons. If you must have ribbon attached, it can only be crepe streamer or raffia (paper based) so it will degrade and dissolve. No plastic clips or attachments can be used on the balloons. We don’t encourage balloon releases of any size, but it is still possible if you follow the above guidelines for doing so legally. Another option is to release less than 20 balloons and give the additional balloons to the children for them to take home, instead of releasing the full amount...
